Living in Camp Verde AZ: Horse Properties, Acreage & Irrigated Land
[00:00:00] Today we're gonna do a little more touring of Camp Verde because there's so much To cover, it's a massive, area, and so I'm gonna try my best to try and give you a glimpse of a few more areas that give you a little better feel for your options and the diversity that's available here in Camp Verde.
Now today, we're exiting on Middle Verde Road off of the I-17, and that is gonna bring us past Cliff Castle. Ooh, and if I can, I'm gonna show you an area, a little subdivision, and literally they have, homes with... They have their own, airfield, and the homes all have hangars attached to the house for their homes.
Now, they would become barndominiums for the new current age because not that many people fly private jets, but that's what the [00:01:00] initial intent was. So here we are. We are going over by Montezuma Castle, Cliff Castle here. This is the casino. I have, not been there much. I'm not a big gambler, but a lot of people like coming here, hanging out, having dinner, that type of thing.
I'm just gonna buzz down here, and some of the areas I'm gonna look at, or hopefully show you today, are where there's a lot of underground water or they get, irrigation rights. So their yards and things are just beautiful, green landscapes
Now keep in mind, Camp Verde is very spread out. There's a small
concentrated area that is like town, but most of it is really pretty rural and pretty spread out. As you can see, as we're driving, there's not a lot of homes here. Today you get to see some of the beautiful, [00:02:00] mountains, ' cause we have the mountain range. I believe this is
Mongolan, Mongolan, Mon- Mongulan. I think I'm saying that wrong. Anyway, it's not an easy word to say. I'm gonna go down here, 'cause I actually did have a client who bought a property off of, Arena Del Loma, and I'm just gonna drive down here, 'cause there's a lot of horse properties down here. I'll try and show you some of that.
Again, you're seeing I'm driving a lot, but there's not a lot of houses here. And you get to see the beautiful views. Here's a home on this side. There's homes
But again, like I said, you've got gorgeous views. You've got the mountain range, the Mingus Mountain Range. That's what we're looking at up there. But most of the homes in here are on acreage and allow horses, sheep, [00:03:00] goats, cattle, all of that kind of thing. So any domestic animals are allowed. They don't have the restrictions that they, have in the city limits.
This is outside the Semite city limits
Sea horses. Ah, sorry I missed it. I'll have to turn around so you can see the horses
Isn't that view just phenomenal? Whoops, gotta make the turn. I was gonna go straight. I mean, the views here just never stop. I'm just gonna say that. They just never stop. It's, it's one of those places that I c- you can live here forever, and every morning you get up and you look around and you see new things.
, This is an area that I strongly recommend because it is close... Actually, it's pretty close to town. It may not seem like it at first, but it is. And
It has beautiful homes, decent [00:04:00] acreage, you know, probably a minimum of an acre to two acres on every house. And we're going over to 17 again, so we're kind of looping back around. And they're newer homes, some of them. Some of them are older homes. You've got a lot of diversity to pick from. So now we're on the other side of 17, away from downtown, and these homes are older But again, just trying to give you a feel for the diversity that's available to you here, and how massive the community is.
I mean, the... It's just massive. And so whatever you might be interested in or looking for, I'm sure we have it here in Camp Verde because that's one of the things that makes this such an attractive area is the diversity of the type of homes. How much acreage? How close to town? Can you have animals or not?
All of those things are questions that people have, and that's my job, is to answer [00:05:00] those questions and make sure that I am helping you. Continuing on because I kind of got cut off there. Again, just showing you how diverse the community is here in Camp Verde. And I'm gonna drive past this gorgeous horse farm, and you're gonna just be like, "Oh, my gosh."
But no, th-th-they... We have, like, literal horse farms here. It's a thing. And I mean, we are the Wild West, you know? I'm just saying, we're the West. There should be horses. There should be farms of horses. We do have cowboys. There's a whole events and everything here. Prescott is the home of the, I don't know, 100-year, longest running rodeo.
I think that's what they call it. And it's always in July, and I'm never here for it 'cause I'm always somewhere else. It's over the 4th of July weekend.
Again, you get to have a little bit of a feel for the [00:06:00] community, and there's a beautiful horse ranch coming up here after I get around this curb, I promise. Stay, stay with me. There's beautiful horses coming.
But again, everything has space. I mean, you're not stacked on top of each other. If you live in town, you could be if you wanted to be. But, generally speaking, and apparently I'm not sure where my horse farm went. Sorry. Client's house.
So maybe I lied. Sorry. I lost it. I lost the horse farm
Anyway, this gives you a feel for the area here
And
We are gonna drive to the area next that has, the [00:07:00] lots of water and Ah, here's the horses. See? I told you, horses Horses. Lots of horses Yeah. And that's very common here. I'm not kidding. That is, like, very common in Camp Verde in particular. We have a lot of horse farms. So I'm gonna pause and I'll come back with the other homes.
Okay, now we are driving back into the city limits of Camp Verde. I believe the school is right here. That's why you have the walking paths, uh, pedestrian crossings, things like that, because now we are... Yep, this is the high school, I believe. Home of the... Yes, this is the high school. Home of the Cowboys.
See, I told you, Cowboys. And as we drive around here, the homes on this side are [00:08:00] older, quite a bit older. But a lot of them have irrigation rights
And as you can see, very lush, lots of trees, grass, foliage. I mean, this part of Camp Verde is water. No issues with water here. Massive amount of water options. Again, we're in the city limits now, so homes are on smaller lots, but if you have an acre lot here, you're allowed mostly, you wanna check the city ordinances and stuff...
Oh, my gosh. Beautiful. Um, for-
uh, the opportunity to have horses, even if you're only on an acre, to have horses
I think an acre is too small for a horse. That's just my opinion, but I [00:09:00] grew up on a farm, so there you go
As you see in the video here, lots and lots of green, and it's because they have irrigation rights here. So they can flood their yards periodically with water a couple times a week, and with this time of the year, we have a ton of water. We had the longest monsoon season we've had in a long time, and then the hurricane off of, California out in the ocean caused some major rain issues here, because it rained literally for three days straight, which never happens.
Like, it rained and rained and rained. So here we are. We're driving back into town, and there are homes on either side of the road here, a little closer together, but as you can see, lots and lots of green. And that's really the main thing I wanted you to get out of this video is if you're looking for green and you wanna [00:10:00] live somewhere where you can have lush gardens and, you know, animals, you just wanna have that green, then this part of Camp Verde is where we would be looking for a house.
And now we're in town. See? So it felt like we were really way out there, but we really weren't. Let me know what kind of area would be most interesting to you. An area that has lots of green and has a lot of water for, you know, irrigating, or are you looking for... And with horse property? I mean, do you want to have animals?
And if not, what would be a better fit? A single family home, a manufactured home? Um, you wanna be on a city lot? Do you wanna be really close to shopping? Let me know in the comments below.
